Introduction

Welcome to this educational site dedicated to explaining how to collect basic weather data and encouraging young weather enthusiasts. We have endeavored to make the site accessible to children between the ages of 7 to 11. It may still be relevant to older pupils, but the target audience is the younger pupils and their parents and teachers. Some material has been simplified for the benifit of the target audience. We are open to any suggestions which fit in with this objective.

This site has been off line for a while and is currently being reconstructed. We hope to have it fully restored soon. It has been and will be considerably extended. Please revisit in the near future.

The initial project was a result of a Staffordshire Educational initiative to promote the use of the Internet and collecting weather data. It used to be know as the Staffordshire School Weather Data Site.

Your hosts for this site are Alan Rodgers and Angella Streluk. We are two former primary school teachers with a special interest in the weather. Grateful thanks also go to Kate Russell of QLS for her support in this project.
